Our love affair with dachshunds started in 2003, when we met and pet-sat Steffy, a short-haired red mini dachshund, and Joey, her long-haired red son. A few years later we had the opportunity to rescue Oscar, an older red mini. Then our short-haired black and tan, Gemma Joy, joined us from Ohio as a Christmas gift. A few years later, Oscar had passed and we wanted a companion for Gemma, so we brought Hazel Penny, a short-haired red, home from Oklahoma. Our most recent addition to the pack is Poppy Mae from Ohio. Poppy is a black and tan dapple. Our dogs live in the house with us and each litter is raised with lots of loving handling right from birth. Puppies are ready to leave us at 8 weeks old with up-to-date vaccinations and deworming.
